12th Ghigho-Aghofen: Oboghoro Hand’s Over to Ogeheye,as Olu of Warri Announces..

The 12th edition of Ghigho-Aghofen, a significant cultural event took center stage on Saturday 21st December,at Palace of the the Olu of Warri,in Warri South local government area Delta State, Nigeria.
The event which marked changing of Palace guard,as Oboghoro community handed over to Ogeheye-Eghoroke, attracted a huge crowd dressed in colorful costumes and traditional outfits.


The 12the Ghigho-Aghofen featured cultural performances, music, dance, and drama from different groups and ethnic nationalities including the Igla,Igbo,Ijaw amongst others, highlighting the cultural diversity in Warri Kingdom.


The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III,in his address commended Oboghoro community for their service to the kingdom “We thank Oboghoro community for their successful watch of the Palace and we commend them for the color Oboghoro Festival”.
He further said”the light that has been lit in Oboghoro shall spread to other communities, starting with it’s neighbor and successor here at the Palace,Ogeheye”.
The Olu concluded by announcing Saturday the 29th of March 2025, for the next Ghigho-Aghofen.
