DELTA: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured residents of the state that 2025 will usher in greater dividends of democracy, while urging Deltans to offer prayers and unwavering support for his administration.Governor Oborevwori extended his best wishes for a prosperous New Year, appreciating the unwavering support of Deltans and promising to intensify efforts toward making the state a beacon of hope and progress in Nigeria.In his New Year message, delivered via a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude to God for seeing the state through the challenges of 2024. He commended Deltans for their resilience and steadfast support over the past 19 months of his administration.He said, “2024 was indeed a tough year, but with God’s guidance, we have crossed into 2025 with renewed hope and enthusiasm,” the governor stated.Highlighting the achievements of his administration, Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development, human capital investment, and peacebuilding under his MORE agenda. He emphasized that despite fiscal constraints, significant progress had been made, with numerous key projects completed and inaugurated.“By the grace of God, my administration has delivered on many promises despite the economic challenges of the past year,” he said. “We remain dedicated to ensuring that Delta remains peaceful and secure, creating an environment for sustainable development.”The governor also called on Deltans to maintain peaceful coexistence, noting that harmony among communities is essential for progress.“No meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of acrimony. Let us continue to live in peace with our neighbours so that government resources can be directed toward developing our communities,” he appealed.Governor Oborevwori expressed optimism about the year ahead, describing 2025 as a year of blessings and transformation for Delta State. He pledged to accelerate the completion of critical infrastructure and to expand entrepreneurial programs aimed at empowering the youth.“As we journey into 2025, we remain focused on advancing Delta by creating opportunities for our people, particularly the youth. With God’s guidance and our collective effort, a greater Delta will emerge,” he assured.
