Edo state senator, Adams Oshiomhole, says “It’s better to have 774 local government chairmen who are thieves than one big thief,” who is a governor
Oshomole who represents Edo North senatorial district, spoke on Monday at a forum on local government autonomy organized by the House of Representatives in Abuja while expressing strong support for the financial autonomy of local governments in Nigeria.
He maintained that given the proximity local government chairmen to the people, they are better positioned allocate resources wisely for essential infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, and other public services.
