WARRI, DELTA STATE—Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori yesterday announced the completion of the long-awaited 20.95-kilometre Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, signaling the realization of a project first awarded nineteen years ago.

The Governor highlighted the significance of the achievement for the Itsekiri people, describing the completion as a “landmark achievement and a deeply cherished milestone.”

The Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road is essentially complete, featuring fifteen bridges of various spans, an engineering feat crucial for connecting the area and facilitating movement across the challenging terrain.

Governor Oborevwori framed the project’s completion as a promise fulfilled, stating, “A promise made, and a promise kept.”

The project is now set for commissioning, which the Governor confirmed is expected to take place in the first quarter of next year. The road is anticipated to significantly improve accessibility, commerce, and development within the Itsekiri communities.
