JUST IN: Battle Is Not Ours but God’s- Sanusi Reacts to Appeal Court Verdict…

The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has expressed gratitude to God following the Appeal Court’s ruling overturning an earlier order that nullified his appointment as Emir of Kano.

In a judgment delivered by a three-member panel of justices, led by Justice Gabriel Kolawole, the court held that the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction over chieftaincy matters and ordered the case to be transferred to the Kano State High Court.

Reacting to the development, Sanusi described the court’s decision as a divine intervention.

“This battle is not ours but God’s. The Appeal Court has confirmed that the Federal High Court has no jurisdiction over issues concerning the emirate. This judgment was expected, and even those who initiated the case knew this from the beginning,” Sanusi said.

He alleged that the initial court ruling was influenced by individuals seeking to promote selfish interests and create unrest in the state.

“For the past eight months, their aim has been to cause division and unrest in Kano. But despite their efforts, our greatest achievement is that peace has been maintained. There has been no violence or disorder.”

The former emir called on Kano residents to remain peaceful and resist any temptation to engage in acts of violence or unrest.

“To the good people of Kano, I urge you to shun any form of crisis or violence. Let us prioritize peace and unity. Those who wish to harm Kano will face the consequences of their actions. Let us remain calm and united.”

He further advised the public not to react to provocations, saying, “Whoever seeks to ignite chaos in Kano, may that fire consume them instead. Let us not respond to their actions or engage them. God does not need anyone’s help to fight His battles.”

Sanusi concluded with prayers for continued peace in Kano, emphasizing the need for all residents to remain steadfast in their commitment to harmony and coexistence.
