JUST IN: Tinubu Presents 2026 Budget Before Joint Session of National Assembly

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday arrived at the National Assembly to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The President arrived at the complex with members of his entourage amid tight security and was received by principal officers of the National Assembly.

The joint session was convened in accordance with constitutional provisions for the presentation of the annual budget estimates by the President.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio is presiding over the session, with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other principal officers in attendance.

Lawmakers from both chambers were already seated as proceedings commenced at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

Details of the 2026 budget, including key projections and sectoral allocations, are expected to be outlined by the President during his address.
