Olu of Warri Flags Off 2025 Intercollegiate Quiz, Debate Competition..,

DELTA: Sixty-four schools from Warri and neighboring kingdoms in Delta State are set to compete in the 2025 Ogiame Atuwatse III Intercollegiate Quiz and Debate Competition, with a grand prize of N10 million.

Announced in October by His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III through his Sole Representative Liaison to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Prince Collins Edema, the competition is aimed at promoting quality education among students in the region.

Speaking during a press conference at Nana College, Warri,Delta State on Friday, Prince Edema highlighted the monarch’s vision for education.

“The education of the Warri child, and indeed the Delta child, is dear to His Majesty’s heart. This competition is part of his commitment to fostering academic excellence in the state,” Edema stated.

Flanked by the organizing team, including the Quiz Project Lead, Coker Tuoyo, Edema extended the monarch’s appreciation to participating schools and educators for their dedication.

“I want to convey His Majesty’s heartfelt gratitude to all the schools here today for their readiness to engage in this noble competition,” he added.

Tuoyo, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of nurturing young minds through such initiatives.

“The competition is designed to enhance students’ intellectual growth. Sixty-four schools, divided into 16 groups, will participate in eight rounds covering science and other subjects,” Tuoyo explained.

The event will feature students from Senior Secondary Schools across seven Local Government Areas, including Warri South, Warri Southwest, Warri North, Okpe, Uvwie, Udu, and Sapele.

Apart from the N10 million grand prize, participants will also receive additional gifts to encourage academic excellence.
