DELTA: The Deputy Senate President of Ivory Coast, Senator Chantel Fanny, has pledged to establish a bilingual primary school in Warri Kingdom, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Senator Fanny made the promise on Friday during her visit to the palace of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
She also expressed gratitude to the monarch for an award recognizing her humanitarian contributions.
Senator Fanny said, “I left this kingdom 59 years ago, but by the grace of God, I have been able to return,” she said. “I am committed to contributing my quota to the growth of Warri Kingdom, just as I have done for Ivory Coast and other parts of the world.”
She emphasized her desire to promote education through the establishment of a French primary school in the kingdom that the students in Warri will visit Ivory Coast and the students of Ivory Coast will also visit nigeria and assured Her Royal Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, of her inclusion in her plans. Senator Fanny also urged women to take up leadership roles, be role models, and prioritize the well-being of their families.
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, lauded Senator Fanny for her accomplishments and urged her to continue her good works for the progress of Warri Kingdom.
During the event titled “The Role of Women in Community Development,” the monarch presented an award of humanitarian service to Senator Fanny in recognition of her efforts to empower communities.
“We are proud of your achievements and your willingness to support the growth of this kingdom,” Ogiame Atuwatse III said.
