DELTA: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Orogun Federal Ward 2, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has held its State and Unit Congress on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Emonu Orogun, the ward’s headquarters.
The event marked the inauguration of the Federal Ward, four State Wards, and their respective Units’ executives, with the Ughelli North LGA PDP leadership in attendance.
In his welcome address, the newly inaugurated Chairman of Orogun Federal Ward 2 PDP, Mr. Francis Otagba, expressed gratitude to the party faithful for their dedication.
Delivering the keynote speech, the National Leader of Orogun Federal Ward 2, Olorogun Lucky Oghene Omoru JP, highlighted the criteria for selecting the newly inaugurated officers, including literacy, loyalty, integrity, and a commitment to the party’s growth.
“The selection process was carefully designed to reposition and strengthen PDP in Orogun Federal Ward 2,” Omoru said. “This will help us rewrite the old narratives and secure victory in future elections.”
Omoru congratulated the newly inaugurated executives, urging them to maintain strong relationships with their unit leaders and members. He also cautioned party members against promoting unauthorized aspirants, reaffirming Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the PDP’s sole candidate for the 2027 elections.
“Governor Oborevwori remains the pillar of our party. Let’s all rally around him to ensure his second tenure is secured,” Omoru stated.
In his remarks, the Ughelli North LGA PDP Chairman, Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro, praised the Orogun Ward 2 leadership for organizing the congress and inaugurating the executives. He called for unity among party members and warned against rumors capable of derailing the party’s goals.
“Our focus remains mobilizing votes for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in 2027,” Ofomukoro said.
The event climaxed with the formal inauguration of the Federal Ward, four State Wards, and their respective Units’ executives by Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro.
Prominent attendees included the Ughelli North LGA PDP executives, ward leaders like Chief Emmanuel Ogobene, Chief David Ejukonemu, and General Emma Agi, as well as women leaders, councillors, and community representatives.
The congress was anchored by Matthew Ejobe and witnessed active participation from party stakeholders, marking a new chapter for the PDP in Orogun Federal Ward 2.
