Leeds United,West Brom and Charlton FC to Partner Delta Sport Commission…

Three English football clubs, Leeds United,West Brom and Charlton FC,have entered into understanding with the Delta State Sports Commission DSC, led by Onos Oborevwori ,for the training of local coaches in Delta State.


This much was disclosed by Ex international and first board member of the commission, Sam Sodje on Tuesday,during a radio sports program on Crown 89.9 FM in Effurun ,Delta State, monitored by Prime Gossip.


Sodje explained that training of indigenous coaches will go along way in improving grassroots sports as they have the capacity to impact hundreds of youths within under their tutelage.
He said ” We have to train the trainers because improving their knowledge amounts to improving hundreds of young talents under them”.

He,further disclosed that the sports commission has also concluded plans to double prize money for grassroots tournaments in the state” The government cannot do it alone and that is why we are working to support those who put in their resources to stage grassroots tournaments through this idea”.


He concluded by urging Deltans to support Warri Wolves and Delta Queens who he said have started the season on a more positive note.
