DELTA: A middle-aged woman, Ifeoma Abisi, from Okuzu in Anambra State, has been arrested by the Bonsaac vigilante group for allegedly breaking into a shop in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Abisi, who was caught while attempting to sell the stolen items, claimed she resorted to burglary after being stranded in the area. She said a man had promised her ₦6,000 for the night but later threw her out, leaving her without money to care for her children.
Desperate for funds, she allegedly gained entry into a shop along Ibori Brother Street, now Ajaji Layout, through the ceiling. However, being unfamiliar with the neighborhood, she was quickly apprehended.
“This is my third time doing this,” Abisi admitted. “I usually sell the stolen goods to a woman named Ada, who deals in illicit drugs at Oko.”
Among the recovered stolen items were a standing fan, a cooking gas cylinder, and a studio light.
Abisi pleaded for mercy, citing financial hardship as her reason for committing the crime. The vigilante group has since handed her over to security authorities for further investigation.
