DELTA: The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), has appointed Professor Ezekiel Ogheneyerovwo Agbalagba as its new Vice Chancellor following a rigorous selection process.
The Chairman of the university’s Governing Council, Engineer Bello Gachi Issa, confirmed the appointment, stating that 39 candidates were initially shortlisted and interviewed.
After thorough evaluation, the top three contenders were presented to the council for final consideration.
“After careful deliberations, Prof. Agbalagba emerged as the best candidate, and the council has formally approved his appointment,” Issa announced.
He expressed confidence in Agbalagba’s ability to lead the university to greater heights. “His experience, academic distinction, and leadership qualities make him the ideal choice for this crucial role. We look forward to working with him in advancing the university’s mission and vision,” he added.
Prof. Agbalagba’s appointment is expected to strengthen FUPRE’s commitment to excellence in petroleum education, research, and innovation.
