Delta Political Vanguard Calls for National Recognition of Late Pa E.K. Clark

DELTA: The Delta Political Vanguard has urged the Nigerian government to immortalize the late Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, in recognition of his immense contributions to national development and the struggle for the rights of the Niger Delta people.

During a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman, members of the political group described Pa Clark as a fearless advocate for justice and good governance whose legacy should not be forgotten.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, a prominent leader and PDP chieftain, Hon. Michael Diden aka Ejele said, “Pa E.K. Clark was a father to many, a strong voice for the oppressed, and a pillar of wisdom. He dedicated his life to ensuring a better future for the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole. It is only fitting that his name be enshrined in our nation’s history through a significant honor.”

On their part, the family of the late leader, elder statesman Pa E. K Clark expressed appreciation for the visit and the call for national recognition.

The late elder statesman’s eldest daughter, Rebecca Okorodudu Clark, described her father as a sincere and forthright man. “Many people didn’t like him because he always stood for the truth, but we, his children, have learned a lot of virtues from him that will guide us in life. We are proud to have had him as our father. 

“Our father always stood for equity and fairness. It is comforting to know that his efforts are being acknowledged even after his passing.”

As tributes continue to pour in from across the country, many political figures, traditional rulers, and civil society groups have echoed the call for a lasting tribute to the late Ijaw leader, highlighting his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s unity and development.
