Residents of Delta State have been informed that courts across the state will go on Easter recess from Friday, April 18 to Friday, April 25, 2025.

The notice, approved by the Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Tessy Diai, was made public through a government announcement issued by the Ministry of Information in Asaba on Monday.

According to the announcement, the recess is in accordance with Section 36 of the High Court Law, Cap H3, Volume 3, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006, and Order 45, Rules 3 and 4 (b) and (c) of the Delta State High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2009.

“There will be no court sitting during the period of the Easter recess,” the statement signed by the Director of Public Communication and Functioning Permanent Secretary, Theresa Adiabua Oliko, read.

Court activities are expected to resume on Monday, April 28, 2025.

The judiciary’s observance of recess periods during major religious holidays is a routine tradition aimed at allowing judges and court staff to rest and reflect.
