Injury Boost for Arsenal Ahead of Champions League Showdown Against Real Madrid

Arsenal have been handed a significant fitness boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid, with key players Ben White and Thomas Partey returning to training.

Mikel Arteta’s side head to the Santiago Bernabéu in a commanding position after securing a 3-0 victory in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners will be aiming to hold off a potential Madrid comeback, as the 15-time European champions look to produce a dramatic turnaround and keep their title defence alive.

Arsenal’s preparations have been bolstered by the return of defender Ben White, who was spotted in full training at London Colney on Tuesday. White missed the weekend’s Premier League draw against Brentford after experiencing discomfort in training last Friday. Arteta confirmed that the decision to leave him out was precautionary.

Midfielder Thomas Partey also trained with the squad, easing fears about his availability after he sustained a knock during the Brentford match. Partey, who scored in the second half of that game, was substituted in the 69th minute as a precaution.

Their return comes as a welcome boost for Arteta, who is already contending with the absence of several key players, including Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori, and Kai Havertz.

Should Arsenal complete the job in Madrid and secure a semi-final berth, they will face the winner of the Aston Villa vs Paris Saint-Germain tie.
