The Federal Government has announced the commencement of the 2025 AI and Tech Reporting Fellowship Programme, a strategic initiative aimed at empowering journalists across Nigeria with cutting-edge skills in artificial intelligence and technology reporting.
Open to applicants from all 36 states, the fellowship offers a comprehensive package that includes funding, advanced training in AI journalism, mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to career-enhancing recognition.
The programme is designed to foster a new generation of tech-savvy media professionals capable of driving informed discourse around technological innovation in Nigeria.
“This fellowship is part of our broader commitment to strengthening digital literacy and innovation in the media sector,” said an official from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. “We’re preparing journalists to not only report on emerging technologies but also to critically engage with them.”
Applications are currently open and will close on May 9, 2025. Interested journalists are encouraged to apply early to benefit from the exclusive development and career advancement opportunities the fellowship provides.
