JAMB Responds to Over 3,000 Complaints on 2025 UTME Results, Launches Immediate Review

Abuja, Nigeria – May 12, 2025

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has acknowledged receiving over 3,000 public complaints following the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results last Friday. In response, the Board has initiated an expedited review of its examination process to address the concerns raised.

According to a statement issued by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, the Board is fast-tracking its annual post-examination review, a procedure that typically spans several months. This comprehensive audit will cover all stages of the UTME process: registration, examination, and result release.

“We are particularly concerned about the unusual nature and volume of complaints coming from certain states across the Federation,” the statement read. “Our immediate focus is to investigate and, if necessary, correct any technical issues that may have affected the examination process or result integrity.”

To ensure transparency and objectivity, JAMB has assembled a team of independent experts, including representatives from the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners, Vice Chancellors, measurement experts, and members of the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa.

Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the Board remains committed to fairness and will take swift remedial action if any glitches are confirmed. “As is our practice, we will not hesitate to reschedule exams or adjust results where justified,” he stated.

JAMB urged affected candidates to remain patient as investigations continue, reaffirming its dedication to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the national examination system.
