Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have neutralized scores of ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists in a successful offensive carried out in the Sambisa Forest, according to a statement posted on the official social media handle of the Nigerian Army (X, formerly known as Twitter).
The operation, which took place on May 11, 2025, targeted Ladin Buttu, a key insurgent enclave used by the terrorists for coordinating logistics and movement. OPHK forces engaged the enemy in a fierce gun battle, employing superior firepower and tactical precision to overwhelm and eliminate several fighters. A significant quantity of weapons and military equipment was also recovered during the mission.
Follow-up clearance patrols revealed blood trails along the insurgents’ escape routes, indicating that many of those who fled were wounded during the encounter. Intelligence confirms that Ladin Buttu has long served as a strategic base for terrorist operations in the area.
The leadership of Operation HADIN KAI commended the troops for their bravery, discipline, and operational excellence. The Nigerian Army emphasized that this successful engagement aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s directive to intensify offensive operations and eliminate terrorist threats across all fronts.
