President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the $25 billion Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim announced at the African Parliament Union in Casablanca.
The 5,660 km pipeline will carry 30 billion cubic metres of gas annually across 13 countries, positioning Nigeria as the main supplier. Ibrahim emphasized the project’s potential to generate jobs, drive industrial growth, and support regional development.
Morocco stands to benefit from European gas exports. The senator urged Rabat to ease visa restrictions for Nigerians to unlock mutual economic gains.
The pipeline is still in the feasibility stage, with the final investment decision moved to 2025. Senetor JimohIbrahim also noted Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s efforts to provide legislative support to ensure smooth execution of the project.
