Pro-Palestinian Activists Damage UK Military Jets in Gaza War Protest

Oxford, UK | June 20, 2025 – In a dramatic escalation of protests over the war in Gaza, two pro-Palestinian activists infiltrated the Royal Air Force base at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, on Friday, damaging at least two military aircraft.

The activists, affiliated with Palestine Action, reportedly accessed the highly secured RAF base and targeted two Voyager jets—used for aerial refuelling and military transport—by pouring red paint into their engines and striking them with crowbars. A video released by the group shows the aircraft defaced with paint, symbolising what they called “Britain’s bloodstained role in Gaza.”

The group also painted the runway red and planted a Palestinian flag on site.

“Despite public condemnation of Israel, Britain continues to refuel, transport, and supply intelligence for military operations in Gaza,” the group said in a statement. “This makes the UK not just complicit, but actively involved in war crimes.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the incident as “disgraceful vandalism”, while the Ministry of Defence praised military personnel as “the very best of Britain,” promising a full investigation into the serious security breach.

The Ministry confirmed that no personnel were harmed, but the damage assessment is ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are also reviewing how the activists were able to breach the base’s perimeter.

Palestine Action, known for direct action campaigns against UK firms linked to Israel’s military, says the act was a strategic protest “to shut down British complicity in the Gaza genocide.”
