Kachikwu Slams Atiku-Led Coalition Over Alleged ADC Takeover

African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, has rejected the Atiku Abubakar led coalition’s claim of taking over ADC’s national leadership, calling the move illegal and laughable.

In a brief statement on Wednesday, Kachikwu criticised the coalition’s alliance with Ralph Nwosu, a former ADC chairman whose tenure, he noted, ended in August 2022. He described Nwosu as representing “a discredited past” and said the takeover attempt lacked legitimacy.

“Can you enter a man’s house through the back door and declare yourself the landlord?” Kachikwu queried.

He accused the Atiku group of reviving failed political figures who have held power for decades but left the nation in decline.

“Nigerians are tired of recycled leaders who offer nothing but division, mediocrity, and poverty,” he said, stressing that ADC represents new ideas and values rooted in merit, unity, and inclusiveness.

Kachikwu warned that if the coalition seeks to join ADC, they must follow due process.

“We are a party of order. Our brand of opposition offers solutions, not just criticism,” he added.

Concluding, he predicted the coalition’s eventual collapse, stating:

“We wish them bon voyage as they continue their search for a political platform.”
