Communities across Warri Federal Constituency, Delta Central Senatorial District, and Edo State have until August 31, 2025 to submit names of eligible Itsekiri students for inclusion in the final batch of beneficiaries of the Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR Itsekiri Students’ Bursary Scheme.
The Office of the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), in a statement on Friday in Warri, disclosed that 746 candidates were shortlisted at the close of the initial application window.
In a bid to meet the targeted 1,000 beneficiaries, the application period has been extended to enable more communities nominate qualified candidates.
According to the statement, each targeted community is expected to submit three eligible Itsekiri students, who must:
Be an Itsekiri indigene.
Be in 200 Level or above in a tertiary institution.
Provide an admission letter or transcript, along with other supporting academic documents
The Olu’s office cautioned communities to carefully review the current shortlist before making new submissions to avoid duplicate entries, stressing that “duplicate submissions will not be considered.”
List of Target Communities includes: A. Warri South LGA: Aja Osolor, Aja-Dediare, Aja-Etan, Aja-Igba, Ajamimogha, Aji-Pessu, Kpisan, Odogene, Egbokodo, Ekurede, Ifiekporo, Ijala, Ikpisan, Inorin, Atse Olu, Merogun, Obodo, Ode-Itsekiri, Odion, Okere, Omadino, Orere Uluba, Orugbo, Ubeji, Ugbodede, Ugbori, Ugboritseduwa, Ugbuwangue, Usele, Uwakeno, Eyube, Numa.
B. Warri North LGA: Abeugborodo, Dale Oketa, Ebokiti, Ebrohimi, Utonlila, Eghoro, Gbokoda, Jakpa, Koko, Kolokolo, Obonti-Egharaeda, Ogheye Eghoroke, Tebu, Tisun, Udo, Ugbege, Ugboegbelemeji, Ureju, Usor, Ogheye Dimigun.
C. Warri South-West LGA. Ajudaibo, Arunton, Bateren, Deghele, Ijaghala, Kantu, Madangho, Ode-Ugborodo, Ogidigben, Orere, Bobi, Ugbegungun, Ugbolegin.
D. Sapele LGA: Aja-Ojigwo, Ajimele, Obontie, Ogun Aja.
E. Okpe LGA: Aja Ogun Oyibo, Ajatiton.
F. Uvwie LGA: Ugbolokposo.
G. Udu LGA: Igbogidi.
H. Ethiope East LGA: Aja-Futughe, Efurokpe, Ibirifo.
I. Edo State Communities: Ikpoba-Okha, Ajamogha, Ajoki, Ologbo, Kolokolo.
