Delta Taskforce Unveils Hotlines for Human Trafficking Whistleblowers

By Peter Chucks, Delta

The Delta State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration has released telephone hotlines and email contacts for victims and whistleblowers to report suspected cases for swift action.

Chairman of the Taskforce and Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Owhovoriole, SAN, announced the hotlines — 08155575495 and 07011862904 — alongside two email addresses: taskforceonhumantrafficking@deltastate.gov.ng and dtstaskforceonhumantrafficking@gmail.com.

He urged victims and concerned citizens to promptly report cases of trafficking in persons, illegal adoptions, or sale of babies, noting that prosecution of offenders becomes difficult without timely reports.

Reports can also be made in person at the Taskforce Secretariat, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, State Ministry of Justice, No. 26B Ogbolu Onuwka Street (SSS Road), Asaba.

Owhovoriole assured that the identity of whistleblowers and victims will be strictly protected.
