The Nigerian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, has honoured Act Sports Di Oyibo FC/Academy with an exceptional reception as the Academy continues its international sporting journey and unveils its latest signing, Victor Oyemade, Nigeria’s number one Teqball player and Africa’s second-ranked star.

Oyemade, who won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the Teqball World Championship in Vietnam, is set to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming World Championship in Thailand this October. His addition to Act Sports Di Oyibo FC/ Academy is seen as a major boost to the Academy’s growing influence in international sports.

During the visit, the delegation led by the Academy’s management was warmly received by the Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Richard Aladetoyinbo, alongside other senior Embassy officials, including the Consular Officer.

The reception, described as beyond normal diplomatic protocol, reflected true Nigerian hospitality in a foreign land.

Mr. Aladetoyinbo commended Act Sports Di Oyibo FC/ Academy for its role in nurturing Nigerian talents and projecting the country positively on the international stage.

He offered words of encouragement and urged all the team to remain focused and disciplined, also Oyemade, as he prepares to fly Nigeria’s flag at the World Championship.

In a rare gesture, the Embassy presented specially branded Nigerian Embassy gift bags containing cultural items and tokens of goodwill to the players, coaches, and management.

The Chargé d’Affaires personally handed a package to the wife (Secretary/Translator of Act Sports) of the Academy’s founder, while refreshments and other symbolic gifts were shared with the entire delegation.

While Reacting, the Academy’s leadership headed by Pastor Samuel R. Oyibo described the reception as unforgettable. He said, “I have visited different embassies across the world, but the way the Nigerian Embassy in Bangkok welcomed us is something special.

“Their attention, their warmth, and the gifts they presented show how much they value Nigerians making a mark abroad,” the Academy stated.

Founders of Act Sports Di Oyibo FC/ Academy, Pastor Samuel R. Oyibo and Maria G. Di Blasi, hailed Oyemade’s signing as a milestone, noting that the Thailand trip marks another step in the Academy’s expanding international partnerships.

The Board of the Act Sports Di Oyibo FC/ Academy also expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Aladetoyinbo and his team for their generosity and encouragement, describing the gesture as a motivation to pursue the Academy’s global vision.

Founded in Kwale, Delta State, Act Sports Di Oyibo FC/ Academy has steadily grown from grassroots football into an international platform that has taken Nigerian athletes to Italy and now Thailand, while expanding opportunities in football and emerging sports like Teqball.

The Academy’s Media Officer, Onyekachukwu Meluwa, who has been documenting and reporting the Academy’s activities, also commended the Embassy’s support, stressing that such recognition further inspires the Academy to project Nigeria positively abroad.

With Oyemade preparing for the World Championship in October, the Academy believes the Embassy’s encouragement will drive the player and the entire team to greater success.
