Olu of Warri’s Visit to Nigerian Defence Academy

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) was a scene of pageantry and respect as it welcomed His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, for a memorable visit on Wednesday. The visit followed the monarch’s delivery of a keynote lecture at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) as part of the Haske Biyu 2025 training exercise.

The captivating moments of the visit were captured in a series of images showing the Academy’s deep reverence for the traditional ruler. The Olu of Warri, a symbol of dignity and heritage, was received with a ceremonial salute, a gesture befitting royalty and a testament to the high regard for Nigeria’s traditional institutions within the military.

His Majesty was received by the Commandant of the NDA and took the opportunity to address the cadets. He commended their dedication to service and admonished them to be good ambassadors of their families and the college as they conclude their training.

The visit not only highlighted the synergy between traditional leadership and military authority but also reinforced the importance of character and values in national security, a theme His Majesty had emphasized in his earlier lecture.
