ABUJA – The marital saga between Senator Ned Nwoko and his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, escalated dramatically today after the politician took to his official Facebook handle to publicly accuse the actress of battling drug and alcohol abuse, which he claims is the sole cause of the couple’s public crisis.
In a lengthy post titled: “REGINA’S UNPROVOKED CARNAGE AND RAMPAGE IN MY HOUSE AND IN MY ABSENCE,” Nwoko directly addressed the recent viral video, which had featured a tearful Daniels allegedly accusing him of domestic violence.
Nwoko vehemently denied the violence allegations, stating that the actress’s current volatile behaviour is rooted in her substance abuse issues.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” the Senator wrote.
He claimed that Daniels recently moved to a new location where she will have “unrestricted access to drugs.” He also asserted that in the last 48 hours, Regina Daniels has been the aggressor, alleging she was “slapping and hitting 3 staff” and “destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause.”
The politician drew a distinction between his wives, stating, “I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here.”
Nwoko stated he has set a clear condition for reconciliation: the actress must accept a rehabilitation program, preferably in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, specifically mentioning a facility in Jordan where she would not have access to drugs.
Further deepening the controversy, Nwoko named two individuals Sammy and a person called Ann as alleged drug suppliers to his wife. He claimed the chaos at home was “orchestrated by Sammy,” while he was busy taking their child, Moon, to the hospital.
He further alleged that a “clear headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital,” but instead she threatened to kill their resident nurse “for exposing her drugs abuse.”
The explosive public statement by Senator Nwoko marks a definitive and serious turn in the highly scrutinised marriage, shifting the public focus from rumours of infidelity to a serious discussion about drug dependency and safety within the family.
