The public marital crisis involving Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has reached a dramatic new low, with the actress now alleging that Nwoko orchestrated the violent arrest and beating of her brother by the Nigerian Police.
This latest outburst, shared via her social media account, is a direct challenge to the Senator, accusing him of using his “power, connections and money” to harass her family.
Regina Daniels’ most recent post intensified the rift, claiming that her brother was brutalized during the arrest: “Imagine the Nigerian police beating up my brother like a criminal. What exactly was the violent arrest for?”
This follows earlier claims by the actress that her elder brother and sister had been arrested as part of a move by Nwoko to compel her to return to a “rehab” facility. In a fiery warning directed at her husband, Daniels threatened to publicly dismantle his reputation, stating she had the capability to “let the man I once saw as an iroko fall before everyone.” She also lamented the negative legacy his actions would leave for their children, who cannot change their surname.
Nwoko’s Counter-Allegations of Substance Abuse
Senator Ned Nwoko has not issued a current, direct response to the specific allegation of police violence against Regina’s brother. However, his camp has previously issued a lengthy statement following the initial crisis—sparked by a viral video of Regina in distress making serious counter-allegations.
Nwoko has repeatedly claimed that Regina Daniels’ recent behavior, which he described as “violent and destructive,” is rooted in an alleged addiction to drugs and alcohol. He insisted that she must continue her rehabilitation program for her safety and life. The Senator’s statement also named Regina’s brother, Sammy West, as an alleged “drug supplier,” an accusation Sammy West quickly denied in a now-deleted post.
Law Enforcement Remains Muted
Despite the gravity of the allegations, law enforcement agencies have remained publicly silent.
- A senior official from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) stated that the agency does not act based on “social media speculation,” maintaining that their work is evidence-based.
- The FCT Police Command spokesperson has also declined to comment on the matter, citing the private nature of the family dispute.
The public airing of these complex, high-stakes accusations which include alleged domestic violence, police brutality, and substance abuse continues to fuel intense public speculation, with fans and observers divided over the authenticity of each narrative. Meanwhile, Regina Daniels has asserted her independence by flaunting the acquisition of a new mansion.
