OMADINO, DELTA STATE—The Omadino Federated Communities have issued a strong disclaimer, unequivocally disowning the recent pronouncements made by Roland Oti Yomere, the self-proclaimed Chief Priest and Chairman of the Legal and Litigation Committee of Omadino Community.
The community stated that Yomere’s public assertions, which included declaring an “alliance” with Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSL), do not represent the official position, views, or mandate of the Omadino Federated Communities, its elders, youth, or women.
In a press release issued on Monday, the community stated that Roland Oti Yomere acted solely in his personal capacity. The release emphasized that Yomere is not the Chief Priest of the Omadino Federated Communities, and warned the public that any individual or entity dealing with him as such does so at their own risk.
Armstrong Yomere Aka Armani Asiwaju, the Public Relations Officer for the Omadino Federated Communities Trust, asserted that Roland Yomere was neither authorized nor delegated by any constituted body within Omadino to engage with the media or to pledge an “alliance” with TSSL on the community’s collective behalf.
While the community acknowledged the importance of the Federal Government’s initiative to protect oil and gas infrastructure and values potential partnership and employment opportunities, they drew a firm line regarding their sovereignty.
The release stated: “Any ongoing discussions or relationships with Tantita Security Services Limited that is done with the intention to annex Omadino land or to be an extension of Gbaramatu, we strongly opposed it.”
The community also stressed that it shares a boundary only with Ugborodo Federated Communities in Warri South West LGA, as affirmed by Supreme Court rulings, and not with any other communities or Kingdom.
To guide external stakeholders, the Omadino Communities reaffirmed that all formal communication, agreements, and statements concerning community affairs will be issued only by the Community Trust and elders, and not by Mr. Yomere, whom they described as a Priest of Akpata.
The release concluded by reaffirming that the sovereignty of the Omadino people as Itsekiri remains under the revered overlordship of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri. The community urged TSSL, the media, and the Federal Government to treat Mr. Yomere’s statements as unofficial and unrepresentative of the Omadino Federated Communities.
