Sowore to FG: Stop Ned Nwoko’s Abuse of Power Now!

ABUJA—The highly controversial marital dispute involving billionaire politician Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has escalated into a major human rights crisis, with former Presidential Candidate and Activist Omoyele Sowore publicly accusing the Senator of a “criminal manipulation of state institutions.”

Sowore took to social media to call for an immediate stop to Senator Nwoko’s alleged abuse of power, specifically citing the continued detention of one Samuel Ojoegwu (Sammy West), who he claims is being unjustly held through the Senator’s influence.

The activist alleges that Senator Nwoko has channeled significant funds to corrupt elements within the Nigeria Police Force to systematically target and intimidate Regina Daniels’s family and friends. Sowore warned the public that the Senator is seeking to expand a “web of harassment and unlawful arrests,” even attempting to draw in the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

According to Sowore, Senator Nwoko allegedly pressured police officers earlier today to block Sammy West’s bail. Furthermore, the Senator purportedly attempted to procure the arrest of Regina Daniels’s close friends and her mother, Rita Daniels, under the false claim that they were supplying the actress with drugs.

Equally disturbing are credible reports that the Senator illegally intercepted and monitored Regina Daniels’s private WhatsApp communications, allegedly paying large sums to police operatives to track her calls and messages. Sowore claims over 250 of these intercepted WhatsApp messages were submitted to attempt to implicate Regina Daniels’s close circle.

In a desperate bid to criminalize his estranged wife and those close to her, Nwoko is also accused of sponsoring the fabrication of medical reports from Nizamiye Hospital and another private facility in Abuja.

Call for Immediate Investigation

Sowore denounced these actions as a grave abuse of state power and a violation of fundamental rights, arguing that Senator Nwoko is himself the criminal in the saga.

The activist called for national leadership to immediately call the Nigeria Police Force and the NDLEA to order. He specifically urged the Attorney General of the Federation and relevant international human-rights bodies to immediately investigate these allegations and curtail Senator Nwoko’s pervasive influence over security agencies in Nigeria.

The statement concluded with a firm demand: “No individual, no matter how wealthy or politically connected, should be allowed to weaponize law-enforcement institutions for personal vendettas. Justice must prevail, and Ned Nwoko must be held accountable for his crimes.”
