Act Sports Di Oyibo Football Academy has booked a place in the final of the ongoing Obasa NLO Pre-season Tournament after a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the semi-final clash held at one of the three zonal centres in Ipaja, Lagos.
The academy, which is set to make its debut in the Nationwide League One (NLO) Division 1 this season, has stunned football followers with its performance, displaying resilience and tactical discipline throughout the tournament.
Speaking after the semi-final triumph, Director of the Academy, Pastor Samuel R. Oyibo, expressed deep gratitude and optimism for the team’s journey so far.
“We are grateful to God for this victory. It’s a big step for us as a new team entering the NLO 1 this season. We continue to pray for our players and officials as we move forward,” Oyibo said.
He also commended the coaching staff and players for their commitment and praised the tournament organisers for the opportunity provided to emerging clubs.
“We sincerely appreciate the efforts of our coaches and the determination of our players. We also thank the organisers of the Obasa NLO Pre-season Tournament for creating this platform for young teams like ours,” he added.
The final match is expected to be another major test for the academy as they look to crown their remarkable run in the competition with a trophy, setting the tone for what could be a promising NLO campaign.
