Ajibade Attributes WAFCON Triumph to God, Shares Testimony at MFM

By Peter Onyekachukwu

Captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Rasheedat Ajibade, has attributed the team’s victory at the 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to God, testifying at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Speaking during the church’s monthly Power Must Change Hands programme on Saturday, Ajibade expressed gratitude for divine strength and acknowledged the spiritual foundation laid by her mother.

“I thanked my mother; she taught us warfare, the word and how to worship. It is by fire by force—you must always get what you want,” she said.

Ajibade, who led the Super Falcons to Olympic qualification for the first time in 16 years, recalled the tough journey to the tournament.

“It was really tough. I was going through injuries, pains and all sorts of things. I didn’t know how to figure it out, but I came here because this is the only place I know. The moment things happen, we tackle it physically and we know how to go to the place of warfare to handle those issues,” she explained.

The striker, who prostrated in praise during the service, expressed appreciation to Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of MFM, for his prayers and encouragement, as well as to pastors of the ministry who supported her.

Ajibade also reflected on her humble beginnings, sharing how she once hawked olive oil, zobo and kunu at deliverance programmes.

“I give glory to the God of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries. He is still in the business of lifting men,” she said.

She urged the congregation to remain steadfast in faith, prayer, and fasting while working diligently and trusting in God, assuring them that “the God of MFM will visibly answer their prayers.”
