Alpha May Club Anniversary Sparks Call for Itsekiri Unity and Progress

In a time when community cohesion is more crucial than ever, the Alpha May Club hosted its 2025 anniversary celebration in Lagos with a clear message: unity is key to the future of the Itsekiri nation.

Held at the Lilygate Hotel in Lekki Phase I, the event brought together a diverse mix of Itsekiri professionals, traditional leaders, youth voices, cultural enthusiasts, and friends of the Warri Kingdom.

The keynote address, delivered by Chief Lawrence Anirejuoritse Wilbert, the Agura Tete of Warri, was the highlight of the evening. Speaking on the theme “Unity in the Itsekiri Nation: Panacea for Peace and Development,” Chief Wilbert stressed that unity is not just a cultural value—it is a driving force for sustainable growth and prosperity.

“Unity is our greatest strength,” he said. “It builds peace, protects our heritage, and opens doors to development.”

Chief Wilbert praised the Alpha May Club for its ongoing commitment to cultural pride and intellectual advancement. He described the group as a symbol of progress, encouraging meaningful dialogue and collaboration among Itsekiris across generations.

Standing before a hall filled with influential guests, the Chief urged the Itsekiri people to rally around the shared goal of strengthening the Warri Kingdom. He called on all Itsekiris to remain loyal to His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, describing such allegiance as the highest expression of national pride.

He also advocated for reconciliation within the community and stronger collective action to boost development, attract investment, and preserve the unique Itsekiri identity.

The event blended cultural performances with thoughtful discussions, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. It was more than a celebration—it was a renewed call to action.

As the Alpha May Club continues its work, the message was clear: only through unity can the Itsekiri nation truly thrive.
