A critical stakeholders meeting for the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election, dubbed #AnambraDecides2025, is currently taking place at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka.
The meeting, held just days before the election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025, is a final push to ensure a smooth, credible, and peaceful electoral process.

The high-level gathering includes leaders of various political parties, their respective governorship candidates, and other key actors in the state’s electoral ecosystem.
Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Queen Elizabeth Agwu emphasized the commitment of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to a free and fair process. She directly addressed the political parties and candidates, issuing a strong plea for them to:

- Strictly adhere to all electoral guidelines.
- Actively promote peace throughout the election period.
The primary purpose of the meeting is to serve as the last platform for all stakeholders to align on crucial logistical and security arrangements. It provides an opportunity to resolve any lingering pre-election issues and ensure seamless coordination between INEC, security agencies, and political actors ahead of the polls.
The Anambra Governorship election is one of the nation’s key off-cycle polls, and security has been flagged as a major risk factor, making the outcome of this final stakeholders meeting essential for the integrity and safety of the vote.
