The Director-General of the Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive Campaign Council 2027, Chief Bunor Agbomedarho, has announced the endorsement of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for a second term by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, while also declaring support for Rev. Waive’s third-term ambition to the House of Representatives.
Agbomedarho made the disclosure on Wednesday in Warri while responding to questions on the political direction of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described Governor Oborevwori as a bridge-builder whose development initiatives have positively impacted communities across Delta State, stressing that the APC in Delta recognises and appreciates the governor’s performance.
“We are happy with the developmental strides of Governor Oborevwori across the state. His leadership style promotes unity and progress, and that is why APC members in Delta are ready to support him,” Agbomedarho said.
He also credited Rev. Waive with playing a key role in facilitating the governor’s entry into the APC, describing the move as a significant political milestone that has strengthened the party’s standing in the state.
According to him, Rev. Waive has remained loyal to the APC and has never been involved in anti-party activities, adding that his inclusive politics has helped to foster cooperation among stakeholders within and outside the party.
Agbomedarho further referenced the existing rotational arrangement of the Delta State governorship, noting that it would be inappropriate for any Urhobo politician to contest against Oborevwori in 2027.
“The governor deserves the support of all well-meaning Deltans to complete his tenure in line with the rotational understanding. After that, other senatorial districts can take their turn,” he said.
On Waive’s record in office, Agbomedarho highlighted the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area, which he said has provided employment for about 950 workers, most of them indigenes of Delta State.
He described the project as evidence of Waive’s capacity to attract federal presence and translate legislative influence into tangible benefits for constituents.
Agbomedarho added that Rev. Waive is well positioned for the APC primaries and the 2027 general elections, noting that consultations and feedback from the Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency indicate widespread support for his return to the House of Representatives.
