DELTA: Amid a surge in defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, the APC has intensified its grassroots mobilisation efforts by launching a statewide registration drive to formally absorb its new members.
In a directive issued by the APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, all local government chairmen of the party have been instructed to collect registration booklets from the party’s state secretariat in Asaba on April 24, 2025.
The booklets are to be distributed to ward chairmen across the state for the formal issuance of membership cards.
Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., the State Publicity Secretary of APC, who made the announcement, noted that the move was aimed at consolidating the party’s growing support base across Delta.
“We are witnessing an unprecedented influx of new members into our great party. These individuals bring with them fresh energy and renewed hope for a brighter future,” Onojeghuo said.
He added that the party is committed to ensuring that every new member is formally registered and integrated into the party’s structure, particularly at the ward level.
“We urge all new members to visit their ward chairmen or party offices for registration and to complete the necessary formalities. This is a key step in strengthening our base ahead of future political engagements,” he said.
The collection of the booklets is scheduled for 11:00 am on April 24 at the APC State Secretariat in Asaba.
With the growing momentum, the APC in Delta State says it is ready to harness the energy of new entrants as it builds a “united and forward thinking party” in the region.
