APC Ward 7 in Delta Suspends Commissioner Aniagwu Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

By Peter Onyekachukwu

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 7 in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, has suspended the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Development) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, over alleged anti-party activities.

The suspension was conveyed in a letter dated February 11, 2026, signed by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Chukwuka Ojinji; Vice Chairman, Mr. Ambrose Okafor; and Secretary, Mr. Magboma Confidence.

According to the letter, the decision was taken in line with Article 21 of the amended APC Constitution, following allegations that the commissioner engaged in actions contrary to the party’s constitution and principles.

The ward executives accused Aniagwu of taking decisions without the approval of the ward leadership, endorsing what they described as an illegal consensus executive list for Ward 7, and working against the interests of the party and its candidates despite not being an elected ward executive member.

Copies of the suspension letter were forwarded to the APC chairman in Ika North-East Local Government Area, the party’s senatorial leadership, as well as the National Working Committee (NWC) and National Executive Council (NEC).

The ward further directed the commissioner to immediately cease all party activities, refrain from using the party’s symbols and platforms, and stay away from party meetings and events pending the conclusion of investigations into the allegations.

Efforts to get Aniagwu’s reaction were unsuccessful, as calls placed to his phone were not answered and text messages sent to him had not been replied to as of the time of filing this report.
