The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intensify efforts in tackling the persistent insecurity across the northern region, insisting that the safety of citizens must remain the government’s top priority.
In a statement signed by Dr. Sani Ahmad, the Assembly’s North Central Coordinator, the group commended President Tinubu’s leadership and his “courageous” reforms aimed at confronting national challenges such as inflation, unemployment, corruption, and weak infrastructure.
Dr. Ahmad praised the administration’s commitment to security, agriculture, and expanding opportunities for youth, describing the President’s policies as a source of renewed hope for the nation.
He quickly pivoted, however, to the pressing concern of security in the North, making an emotional appeal to the President.
“As for the improvement of security in our northern region, I still plead with my two knees down to continue,” Dr. Ahmad stressed, urging the President not to relent. He asked the President to ignore those who “do not understand the burden of leadership” and ensure the safety of all Nigerians to add “years of peace and prosperity.”
The Assembly used the occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary to celebrate the overall progress recorded under Tinubu’s watch, noting that his policies have set the country on the path to stability, growth, and greater unity. Dr. Ahmad concluded by praying for the President to be granted the wisdom, strength, and health required to steer the nation forward.
