Following last Friday’s declaration of the United States of Briafra by some followers of incarcerated IPOB factional leader,Simon Ekpan,Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has issued a stern warning to proponents of the Biafra Republic, cautioning them against including Niger Delta and South-South communities in their secessionist agenda.
In a statement signed by PANDEF’s National Youth Leader, Hon. Engr. Donben Donyegha, the group reaffirmed its stance on the unity of Nigeria and distanced the region from the proposed Biafra Republic.
“The Niger Delta is not part of Biafra. Any attempt to include our communities in this agitation is provocative and will be met with strong resistance from our youths,” Donyegha declared.
The group described the continued inclusion of Niger Delta areas in the secession discourse as an insult to the region’s leaders and elders.
