Biafra Group Leader Urges Tinubu to Reinstate Fubara, Warns of Possible Unrest

By Peter Onyekachukwu, Calaba

CROSS RIVER: Princewill Chimezie Richards, the founder of the Biafra Nations League (BnL), has urged President Bola Tinubu to reinstate Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, warning that failure to do so could lead to further instability in Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists in Calabar, Richards, who has been detained twice in the Bakassi Peninsula, described the situation in Rivers as a political crisis rather than a civil war. He argued that the crisis had not escalated to the level that would justify the declaration of a state of emergency or the suspension of a democratically elected governor.

“If Fubara is not reinstated, it might trigger conflict in Nigeria,” Richards warned. “From the look of things, Nigeria does not want peace.”

He, however, urged the federal government to take proactive steps toward resolving the crisis peacefully.
