BildUp AI Launches ₦500m ‘AI in Every Classroom’ Initiative

ENUGU, Nigeria — Nigerian edtech startup BildUp AI has launched a ₦500 million initiative to integrate artificial intelligence into classrooms across the country, starting with Adorable British College in Enugu.

The project, titled ‘AI in Every Classroom’, aims to reach 1 million students in 12 months, and 10 million across Africa in five years. It features AI-powered learning tools tailored to students’ individual needs, supported by tablets donated to schools.

CEO Chibuike Aguene said the goal is to ensure equal access to quality education and empower both students and teachers.

“AI allows us to break learning barriers and provide every child the opportunity to succeed,” Aguene stated.

Unlike traditional models, the platform offers personalised, adaptive learning and enables teachers to focus more on mentorship and engagement. It also provides parents with real-time performance insights, fostering greater home-school collaboration.

Aguene assured that AI would not replace educators but enhance their impact by reclaiming up to 80% of their time.

“Today, we’re witnessing Africa’s first indigenous AI tutor in a Nigerian classroom. This marks a new era for education,” he added.

BildUp AI also supports curriculum improvements using data analytics and delivers locally relevant content designed to address Africa’s unique educational challenges.
