Abuja, — The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has officially been sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from office following his recent appointment by the President in April 2025
Ojulari, a seasoned petroleum engineer and former Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), took over from Mele Kyari, who was relieved of his duties in a sweeping leadership shake-up aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s oil and gas sector for greater efficiency and transparency.
Just few days after Bashir Bayo Ojulari, made the announcement at a company-wide town hall meeting on Tuesday in Abuja. were he clarified that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has definitively ruled out the sale of the Port Harcourt Refining Company, reaffirming its commitment to completing a “high-graded rehabilitation” and retaining the Port Harcourt refinery prior to the completion of its rehabilitation.
