President Bola Tinubu has submitted a ₦1.48 trillion emergency appropriation bill to the National Assembly for immediate approval to support governance under the Emergency Rule in Rivers State.
The bill, read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on the Senate floor, allocates ₦166bn for healthcare, ₦75.6bn for education, ₦31.4bn for agriculture, and ₦5bn for free drug distribution. A major portion is earmarked for infrastructure.
The proposal has been referred to the Senate Committee on Emergency Rule in Rivers for expedited consideration.
