Warri, Delta State – May 2, 2025 —
The newly appointed Brigade Commander of the Nigerian Army 63 Brigade, Asaba, Brigadier General Folu Shonibare, on Friday May 2nd paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri.
The visit, which took place at the royal palace in Warri, was part of the Brigade Commander’s familiarization tour following his recent appointment. Brig. Gen. Shonibare expressed his respect for the revered monarch and emphasized the importance of strengthening civil-military relations, particularly in the areas of peace, security, and cooperation within the region.
His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III welcomed the new commander warmly and reaffirmed the Warri Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army’s efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the Niger Delta region.
The visit is seen as a significant step toward fostering collaboration between the military and traditional institutions in addressing security challenges and promoting community development.
