In a remarkable story of survival, a British passenger has emerged as the sole survivor of a devastating Air India crash that claimed the lives of more than 200 people.
Vishwashkumar Ramesh was seated in 11A aboard a London-bound Boeing 787-8 when the aircraft went down shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad in western India.
His brother, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, expressed disbelief at the outcome, saying he has “no idea” how Vishwashkumar managed to survive the crash.
According to Air India, the flight—destined for Gatwick Airport—was carrying 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese citizens, and one Canadian.
