Chad Shuts Border with Nigeria Amid US Military Invasion Threat

The government of Chad has reportedly closed its border with Nigeria in response to the looming threat of military action against Nigeria issued by United States President Donald Trump.

The closure, confirmed by a post on X by counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama, follows President Trump’s declaration last Friday, October 31, that Nigeria was being redesignated as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) due to alleged Christian genocide.

According to military sources in N’Djamena, Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno ordered a complete military lockdown along the Nigerian border. The decision was based on intelligence reports suggesting that terrorist elements from northern Nigeria were preparing to flee across the border into Chadian territory.

The Chadian army has been placed on full alert, with troops and armored vehicles strategically deployed across key border corridors linking the two nations.

President Déby Itno was quoted as issuing a stern warning: “No armed group or foreign force will be allowed to enter Chadian soil under any disguise.”

Security analysts view the border closure as a crucial preventive measure aimed at safeguarding Chadian sovereignty and preventing possible infiltration by armed groups who may seek to exploit the heightened regional instability and growing speculation surrounding America’s alleged military activities in West Africa.
