The Dangote Group has expressed profound sadness over the death of Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna. Otabor passed away weeks after a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the company confirmed that its officials and insurance partners had been supporting Ruth and her family since the incident, covering all financial and medical expenses. The statement added that arrangements were already in place to fly her to India for advanced medical treatment, pending clearance from her doctors. “Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” the company stated.
The Dangote Group also extended its condolences to the Otabor family and reaffirmed its commitment to safety, accountability, and compassion in all its operations.
