The Chief of Defence Operations, Major General EV Onumajuru, has directed troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) to step up their offensive against criminal elements across Plateau, Kaduna, and Bauchi states.
Onumajuru gave the order on Wednesday during a visit to the OPSH headquarters in Jos, where he assessed the level of operational conduct. He urged the troops to maintain an aggressive posture against armed criminals while assuring them of additional combat support to aid their operations.
He also tasked them with strengthening collaboration with other security agencies to build a stronger intelligence network for more effective results.
The Chief of Defence Operations praised OPSH for its commitment to maintaining peace in a challenging environment, stressing that civil-military relations remain key to internal security.
Earlier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of OPSH, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, described the visit as a major boost to the command’s activities aimed at improving security in the region.
Oyinlola highlighted recurring triggers of attacks in the Joint Operations Area (JOA), noting that security agencies were deploying measures to tackle them. He called for greater community participation and the establishment of well-structured local networks to support ongoing efforts.
