The Delta State High Court sitting in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area, has granted an ex parte motion in a case involving the estate of the late Mr. Akpuhi Godwin Oghenekaro.
The court, presided over by Justice Joe Egwu, issued the interim orders on Wednesday in Suit No. HOR/L/77/2025 before adjourning the matter to December 8, 2025, for further hearing.
The application was filed by Mrs. Elohor Avwaruroro Okoye and Julius Ezegwu on behalf of the complainant, Mr. Awoziakpo Akpuhi, who is challenging actions taken regarding the management of the late Akpuhi’s estate.
Listed among the defendants is the Probate Registrar of the Delta State High Court, Mrs. Akpuhi Stella Omotejowho, sued in her personal capacity and as guardian ad litem of two minors, Christabel Ajiroghene and Maiki Ohenevwehba Akpuhi.
Other defendants include Miss Akpuhi Oghaleoghene Splendour, WellBerg Energy Service Nigeria Limited, NNPC Exploration and Production Limited, Chevron Nigeria Limited, and First City Monument Bank Plc.
In the ex parte motion, the applicant sought an interim order restraining the 2nd and 3rd defendants from operating or withdrawing from the personal and corporate accounts of the late Oghenekaro pending the hearing of the substantive motion.
The court was also asked to restrain the same defendants from selling, collecting rents, leasing, or interfering with the deceased’s landed properties until the motion on notice is determined.
Additionally, the applicant requested an order stopping the 4th and 7th defendants from releasing funds or permitting any transactions by the 2nd and 3rd defendants relating to the late Oghenekaro’s estate.
The motion further sought to prevent the 5th and 6th defendants from making any contractual payments to the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th defendants connected to the late Oghenekaro’s business interests.
Another key prayer asked the court to stay the execution of the letter of administration issued on February 17, 2025, which appointed the 2nd and 3rd defendants as sole administrators of the late Oghenekaro’s estate.
After reviewing the submissions of the applicant’s counsel, Justice Egwu granted all the interim reliefs sought in the motion.
The judge subsequently adjourned the case to December 8, 2025, for hearing of the motion on notice.
