DELTA: The Delta State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities, leading to the arrest of suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists, as well as the recovery of a significant cache of weapons, including a G3 rifle, a Beretta pistol, pump-action guns, and locally fabricated firearms.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, on Friday reaffirmed the command’s commitment to making Delta State uninhabitable for criminals, stressing that security operatives will not relent in their fight against crime.

With security efforts intensifying, the Delta State Police Command continues to send a strong message to criminalscriminals, there will be no hiding place for them in the state.

In one of the operations, operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), acting on intelligence, stormed the hideout of a suspected kidnap gang leader identified as Emeka (surname unknown) at Evwokenren Layout, off Ughelli Road in Agbarho.

The raid led to the recovery of a semi-automatic Beretta pistol, four cut-to-size locally made guns, 13 rounds of live cartridges, and military uniforms concealed in a black polythene bag.

In another breakthrough, officers of Safer Highway Patrol arrested four suspects Buhari Bala (28), Habibu Sale (25), Abdulwahab Musa (20), and Taisu Bala (20) along the Agbor-Benin Expressway.

The suspects, who claimed to be hunters traveling from Zaria, were found in possession of three locally made long guns and charms.

Similarly, operatives of the Agbarho Police Division, acting on a tip-off, raided the apartment of one Eriga Enyuche (40), leading to the discovery of a G3 rifle and a pump-action gun hidden in his ceiling.

CP Abaniwonda assured residents that the police would sustain the offensive against criminals and urged the public to provide credible information to assist in crime prevention. He provided emergency contact numbers for residents to report suspicious activities.
