The Delta State Police Command has charged two suspects, Patrick Junior Asini (34) and Tega Ojo (20), with cyberbullying and cyberstalking after a viral video showed them smoking suspected marijuana and making obscene gestures on a police patrol van.

Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe confirmed on Friday via X (formerly Twitter) that the duo was arraigned at the Oghara High Court on a three-count charge under the Cybercrime Act. They have been remanded at the Sapele Custodial Centre.
The video, which sparked widespread outrage, showed the suspects atop a police van marked “Nigeria Police Force Anti-crime Patrol, Oghara Division,” with one of them flashing his middle finger and making derogatory remarks about law enforcement.
Authorities said the conduct not only mocked police authority but also constituted criminal defamation and abuse under cybercrime laws.
